Alongside its consumer offer, it will also support the company's business-to-business service which works with local bars and restaurants.

The Solihull launch is Majestic's fifth new store of its current financial year.

Chief executive John Colley said: "Solihull is a location we've been targeting for some time as part of our expansion plans so we are delighted to be bringing our award-winning wines and expert knowledge to the town just in time for the festive season.

"We know there are hundreds of discerning wine lovers in the local community - many of whom already shop with us in Shirley, Birmingham or online - and this will make it even more convenient for them to discover new wines, beers and spirits they will love.

"Majestic remains huge champions of experiential, bricks-and-mortar retail and we are proud to be accelerating our investments in towns and cities like Solihull.

"We're looking forward to becoming a part of even more communities ahead of Christmas and in the coming years."

Neil Shastri-Hurst, MP for Solihull West and Shirley, added: "This new store is good news for our local economy and brings more employment opportunities.

"With the nearby planned redevelopment of Mell Square, Solihull continues to strengthen its position as the place to do business in the West Midlands."
