A Plymouth building contractor has opened a new office in Cornwall as it looks to expand.
TEC Construction, which has worked on projects including the regeneration of Grade-II listed St John's Hall in Penzance, has taken space at Pool Innovation Centre.
The company offers interior and exterior building services such as refurbishments, renovations, maintenance and restoration. It works across various sectors including education, public sector, defence, commercial, and heritage.
Rob Barrows, Cornwall operations manager at TEC Construction, said: “This exciting expansion marks a significant step in our continued growth, and we’re thrilled to now have a dedicated TEC team based in the region.
"Having a local presence enables us to build stronger relationships, engage more closely with communities, clients and partners, and deliver even more tailored local support."
Mr Barrows said the innovation centre in Pool offered an "ideal base" for the company's local operations.
"Its ethos and strong focus on growth also align perfectly with TEC’s values and ambitions," he added. "A key priority for us is supporting the next generation of construction talent.
"We will be expanding our successful apprenticeship programme by strengthening our partnership with Cornwall College and other local education partners, to ensure that we play a part in creating more opportunities for anyone interested in a career in construction.”
Matt Harrington, head of Cornwall Innovation Centres, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome another fast-growing and ambitious company to Cornwall Innovation. It’s been fantastic to assist the team in offering a space that fits their growing needs, and we look forward to supporting them with their ambitious plans.”
The Cornwall Innovation Centres comprises three hubs across the county, with more than 150 businesses being run from the three locations: Truro (Health & Wellbeing Innovation Centre, Treliske), Pool (Pool Innovation Centre) and Penryn (Tremough Innovation Centre).
