The 海角视频鈥檚 only trademarked cheese is set to benefit from a new trade agreement with the United States.
Stilton cheese is on a list of British products set to benefit after a stop-gap deal was struck over a longstanding trade conflict between Britain and America over aerospace tariffs.
Scotch whisky, cashmere and pork are also among products set to benefit from the cut in tariffs.
Donald Trump鈥檚 administration hit the EU with tariffs on 拢5.6 billion worth of goods in retaliation for state support given to Airbus 鈥 with products including scotch whisky badly affected by the measures.
The EU responded with tariffs on 拢3 billion of American goods over subsidies given to Boeing.
However the 海角视频 recently presented an olive branch to the US by announcing it was suspending the tariffs.
The Biden administration has now reciprocated by suspending tariffs on a range of goods, in an effort to reach a negotiated solution to the dispute.
Stilton has protected designation of origin status, meaning it can only be labelled as such if it is produced in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire 鈥 with some producers stretching back five generations.
Its manufacturers have been struggling during the pandemic after losing sales as a result of restaurants closing and exports slowing.
Sales were down a third last spring and 16 per cent for the whole of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting disruption to the country鈥檚 hospitality and events industry, figures released by the Stilton Cheese Makers Association (SCMA) showed.
The Government said the United States had agreed to temporarily suspend all retaliatory tariffs on direct exports from the 海角视频 to the US resulting from the Airbus dispute.
It is hoped the four month grace period will allow time to negotiate a solution to the 16- year long dispute.
The Government said that in 2018 the 海角视频 exported around 拢45 million of cheeses to the US, of which around 拢4 million was Stilton cheese.
The Government said that three years ago, the year before the tariffs were imposed, the US imported around 拢550 million of goods affected by these measures from the 海角视频.
It said the tariff suspension will help protect jobs on both sides of the Atlantic in industries targeted by the 鈥渦nfair tariffs鈥, particularly scotch whisky.
It said scotch was the 海角视频鈥檚 largest food and drink export in 2020, and exports of single malt Irish and scotch whiskies to the US were worth around 拢340 million in 2018.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: 鈥淔rom scotch whisky distillers to Stilton-makers, businesses across the 海角视频 will benefit from the US decision today to suspend tariffs in this dispute.

The announcement also benefits cashmere producers in Scotland, who in 2018 exported 拢6 million of products to the US.
Pig farmers will also be helped. In 2018 the 海角视频 exported to the US around 拢38 million of the pork that was targeted by the tariffs.
The Department for International Trade said: 鈥淭he 海角视频 will continue to engage with the US to agree a fair settlement to the dispute, that permanently removes punitive tariffs and works for the whole of the 海角视频. This would benefit the 海角视频鈥檚 aerospace industry which employs people across the country, including Wales, Belfast and Sheffield.
鈥淭he Government reserves the right to re-impose tariffs at any point if satisfactory progress towards an agreeable settlement is not made.
