A shop fit-out specialist, that has worked with huge names such as Harrods and Selfridges, has been recognised for its work on a quirky window display at Fortnum and Mason.

Leicester-based Clements Create scooped gold in the best window category at the 2019 POPAI 鈥 Point of Purchase Advertising Institute 鈥 Awards, for a colourful display at the Piccadilly fine food shop promoting 150 years of Kraft Heinz.

The windows featured dozens of oversized tomatoes, bowls of soup and ketchup bottles as well as a vast slice of toast surrounded by baked beans.

It won the judges backing thanks to being 鈥渉ighly effective, well thought through and on-brand鈥.

They said: 鈥淭he display tells a story as well as being innovative and eyecatching.

鈥淚t links back to the original heritage of the brand and the retailer perfectly. Well crafted and executed to a very high level.鈥

The Clements Create windows for Fortnum & Mason

Paul Tallett, Create鈥檚 business development manager, said: 鈥淭he project needed to showcase the company鈥檚 culinary history as well as engaging with passing shoppers, creating an experience that would stop people in their tracks.

鈥淜raft Heinz trusted Clements to create magic, telling this unique story in all eight of Fortnum & Mason鈥檚 iconic windows and its central store atrium.

鈥淲ithin a very tight, three week timeframe, Clements鈥 innovative and creative team designed, manufactured and smoothly installed this unique project, using a mixture of hand sculpting, Heinz products, neon lighting and pure craftsmanship.

鈥淐lements handled all aspects of the project from our 60,000 sq ft production facility in Leicester, where it has a dedicated workforce of over 120 staff.

What a lot of bottle!

鈥淲e delivered a jaw-dropping brand experience to Kraft Heinz鈥檚 exacting requirements, with no element or detail being overlooked.

鈥淔ortnum and Mason were the first company in the 海角视频 to stock Heinz products and Heinz are clients of ours.

鈥淲e also did a Heinz pop-up museum in Covent Garden dedicated to their baked beans.鈥

He said there were two sides to Clements 鈥 Clements Create, which specialises in brand experiences and marketing, and Clements Retail, which is the design and manufacturing side of the family-owned shopfitting business.

It can trace its roots back to 1832 as a carpentry firm, and is now based in Beaumont Leys on the outskirts of Leicester.

Turnover for the overall business is around 拢16 million.

The world-famous Fortnum & Mason London store

Mr Tallett said: 鈥淐lements Retail has worked with clients such as Harrods and Selfridges and Louis Vuitton, and we have worked all over the world.

鈥淥ne big project, for instance, in Harrods this year has been the technology department which was completely revamped by Clements.

鈥淏ecause Harrods is such an old building we found ourselves having to work around hidden water pipes and drainage and electrical systems.

鈥淲e have full manufacturing facilities in Beaumont Leys, right down to be able to build individual units and lighting systems.

鈥淲e all know retail is having a torrid time, but we are not operating in the high street, but pitch at the very top end 鈥 which does come with its own demands 鈥 but which doesn鈥檛 seem to be experiencing the same doom and gloom as the rest of the market.鈥
