A Merseyside recruitment business has moved into the South East with an acquisition that will also help it to expand into new sectors.

Kingdom Services Group, of Newton-le-Willows, has completed a deal for M C Personnel of Gillingham, Kent. The new acquisition will be rebranded as Kingdom People to align with the group’s other brands in areas including security and cleaning.

MC Personnel was founded in 1998 and today has 400 colleagues it places into sectors including industrial, hospitality and driving across Kent, South East London and Essex.

As part of Kingdom People the business will continue to be led by Danielle Cassidy, who will join the company’s senior leadership team. Kingdom says the move will mean it’s “business as usual” for M C Personnel customers and staff, while the deal will allow Kingdom “to provide a wider recruitment proposition to customers and colleagues”.

The wider Kingdom Services Group now has more than 11,000 colleagues and a turnover of some £250m.

Mike Rogers, COO of Kingdom People, said: “We are delighted to welcome the M C team, colleagues and customers to Kingdom. The acquisition of MC Personnel is an important step in the growth of Kingdom People as it becomes our 6th branch location and increases our footprint in core and new vertical markets including hospitality/catering and transport.

“The M C Personnel acquisition continues to shape the future of Kingdom People as we approach £100m in revenue and also strengthens our Kent, Sussex and SE London proposition.”

Danielle Cassidy said: “Having successfully led and developed the MC Personnel business, we are now really pleased to be joining Kingdom Group. Having built great relationships with many leading organisations the business now moves into its next & exciting phase of development as the first South East recruitment arm for Kingdom People.

“With the skills, support and resources now available as part of much bigger group and £75M major player in the staffing and recruitment business, we look forward to further enhancing our service offerings to current clients and new, and continuing building our presence in the South East.”
