One of the 海角视频鈥檚 best young chefs is to open a restaurant in Birmingham that will create 20 new jobs and bolster the city鈥檚 growing reputation for quality dining.
Adam Stokes has left his post as head chef at Glennap Castle, Scotland, to set up his first solo venture.
He is the latest culinary star to join the city鈥檚 growing list of top chefs flying the flag for Birmingham 鈥 including Glynn Purnell, Andreas Antona, Luke Tipping, Richard Turner and Adam Bennett.
Adam, 32, earned a Michelin Star and four AA Rosettes in 2011.
He will open Adam鈥檚, on Bennetts Hill, this Friday as a 24-seat pop-up restaurant.
It will operate for an initial two years before switching to larger premises in Birmingham.
Adam鈥檚 will serve an innovative menu of modern British food, including a 拢27 three-course lunch menu and a tasting menu costing 拢75 featuring dishes including pig鈥檚 trotter, foie gras and haggis.
Adam, who will run the restaurant with his wife Natasha, 28, said: 鈥淏irmingham is a very vibrant city, it is up-and-coming.
鈥淭he younger clientele we are going for know a lot more about food now.
鈥淭he city has a rich culinary history, an internationally renowned fine dining scene and a rapidly growing gastronomic market.
鈥淚 am not here to ruffle any feathers. I am here to cook fantastic food and join the guys who are here already.鈥
There are currently three Michelin-starred restaurants in Birmingham 鈥 Purnell鈥檚, Simpsons and Turners, which is the largest number for any English city outside of London.
Marek Dobrowolski, of Business Birmingham, an organisation that has been working closely with Adam, said: 鈥淲elcoming yet another Michelin star chef will help us to put the city鈥檚 gastronomy in the spotlight, cementing our status as a leader in cuisine.鈥
