Global real estate firm Avison Young has appointed a new regional managing director for Bristol and the South West. Julian Watts previously worked for the company for more than six years between 2016 and 2023.
He has experience advising on office occupation and development in London, Birmingham and Bristol, and has worked on high-profile developments in these cities.
His recent work in Bristol and the South West includes development and leasing strategy for the Welcome Building, One Hundred Victoria Street, Halo and Embarq, as well as No.1 Bath Quays and Royal Mead in Bath.
Beyond the private sector, Julian has supported major strategic programmes for institutions including the City of London Corporation, National Rail and Oxford Brookes University.
“I am excited to be rejoining Avison Young and leading the talented Bristol and South West team to drive new growth in a market I know well and am hugely passionate about," he said.
“The region is evolving rapidly, and I’m looking forward to helping clients adapt, innovate and thrive in a market that demands more from real estate than ever before. I am energised to be returning at a time of such change and opportunity.”
Stephen Cowperthwaite, principal and managing director, regions and Liverpool at Avison Young, added: “Julian’s return is a huge boost to our regional leadership team. He brings deep market expertise, strong client relationships, and a clear vision for what occupiers and investors need in a rapidly evolving landscape.
“We’re delighted to welcome him back, and his understanding of the regional market and strong client relationships make him an invaluable asset as we continue to grow our presence and deliver value for clients.”
Avison Young said Mr Watts return marked "a renewed investment" in the South West and strengthened the company's ambition to "shape a more dynamic, sustainable real estate market in the region".
