Sunderland communications firm Cellular Solutions is snapped up by North West company

Sunderland communications firm Cellular Solutions has been snapped up by a North West company in an undisclosed deal.

Cellular Solutions, a specialist provider of communications and business systems, was founded by Mike Bowers in 1995 and is part of the O2 Direct Partner network.

The firm has now been acquired by Communications Plus based in St Helens, Merseyside.

Merseyside-based Communications Plus employs more than 200 people across 21 locations and was named as O2 Franchise of the Decade in 2018, operating 21 O2 franchise stores across the North West, North East and North Wales.

As part of the transaction, Cellular Solutions’ business software division transferred to Smith Cooper System Partners, an accredited Sage business partner.

Gary Scouller, business development director of Communications Plus, said: “Cellular Solutions have built a great business and loyal customer base over the last 26 years.

"Bringing these two businesses together will significantly benefit our customers, partners, stakeholders and employees and I’m really looking forward to working with the team to take it to the next level.
