Chefs, waters and housekeepers from The Belfry Hotel & Resort are joining more than 400 runners to raise funds for at the .
The 15-strong team hope to raise 拢1,000 at the race on Bank Holiday Sunday May 1 for the hospital, which the hotel, near , has chosen as its Charity of the Year.
They are competing against hundreds of other runners from more than 30 firms across the West Midlands in the Business Challenge in which runners receive a personalised company engraved plaque for taking part.
The fastest firm wins a trophy.
The Great Birmingham Run Series, including the 10k, is one of Birmingham Children Hospital charity鈥檚 biggest annual fundraisers.
The Belfry has held a series of fundraising activities, but the 10K marks the first running challenge undertaken by staff, who are being rewarded by the hotel with a glass of fizz and massage to wind down after the race.
Marketing Director Gail Webb said: 鈥淥ur team has mixed emotions about the 10k. Some are excited, others are determined and a couple are completely terrified 鈥 but they鈥檙e all very much looking forward to the challenge.
鈥淥ne runner, Ruth Cousin, recently prepared for the 10k by completing her first ever in aid of the Children鈥檚 Hospital.
鈥淲e truly hope that our fundraising will make a huge contribution to the amazing care and treatment that the hodpital delivers daily, allowing more children and their families to lead long, happy and healthy lives.鈥
