Robinsons Caravans reports record revenues during pandemic helped by º£½ÇÊÓƵ staycations

More people are buying caravans for the first time, and families have spare cash due to lockdown restrictions

Robinsons Caravans says more people are set to holiday in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ this summer

The high number of people holidaying in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ has helped a national caravan retailer post record revenues.

Management at Derbyshire-based Robinsons Caravans said they saw sales of more than £20 million in 2021 – the best in 54 years of trading – on the back of £19.7 million sales in 2020.

The business saw profits of £1.6 million, beating a previous high of £934,000 in 2017.

This growth was put down to a combination of more people buying caravans for the first time, and families having spare cash as a result of not being able to spend during lockdown.

To help meet growing demand, the business also launched an online shop at caravans4cash.co.uk.

Managing director Jarrod Clay said: “We have enjoyed record growth, but this could have been higher had there not been a shortage in supply.

“The manufacturing of new caravans has been adversely affected during the crisis, which has meant that some sales have been lost.

“However, as production levels return to normal, demand remains strong, and we are confident of continued growth.”
