A Derbyshire firm which sells new and used caravans has secured a finance facility to help it bounce back from the impact of the coronavirus crisis.

Robinsons Caravans, which is based in Chesterfield, has received the support from HSBC 海角视频 through the government-backed Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS).

During the lockdown, the firm鈥檚 ability to trade has been restricted. Since March it has been operating at a reduced level offering 鈥榲irtual viewings鈥.

And while its sites have remained partially open to support customers, Robinsons鈥 retail business, which sells caravan equipment and accessories, has been closed.

However, as lockdown restrictions continue to be lifted, the firm, which was established in 1960, is now positioning itself to take advantage of a rise in the number of people looking to holiday in the 海角视频 this summer instead of abroad.

Paul Seabridge, chief executive of Robinsons Caravans, said: 鈥淐oronavirus has had an impact on our business over the last few months.

鈥淭his time of the year is historically our busiest but we have not been able to trade at our usual levels.

鈥淲e are incredibly grateful to HSBC 海角视频 for making the funding available to us, which has really helped us during unprecedented circumstances.

鈥淲e are hopeful and are already seeing an uplift in activity as we emerge from these restrictions.

鈥淚nternational travel remains limited, and as a result, we are seeing new inquiries from potential customers looking to holiday in the 海角视频 and having a caravan or motorhome is a great way to do this.鈥

Liz Fuge, HSBC 海角视频 East Midlands area director, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e committed to supporting our customers during this period of uncertainty.

鈥淚t鈥檚 important we鈥檙e able to tailor our support according to our customers鈥 needs so we鈥檙e delighted we鈥檝e been able to provide a facility to Robinsons Caravans that ensures it can return to business as usual as soon as possible.鈥
