A mobile coffee business has put down permanent roots in its native North East after opening its first permanent base in Newcastle city centre.
NorthShore Coffee Co has built a strong reputation through its mobile venture, which sees its team travel around the 海角视频 to supply its coffee and food at events and pop-ups.
More recently, in the absence of events, the business has garnered a new client base after setting up a pitch in Gosforth, Newcastle, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now founder Toby Davison is investing in a permanent site for NorthShore Coffee Co, by opening an outlet in the city鈥檚 Grainger Market.
He said: 鈥淭his is the next step for us in our growth and it is great to have something in the city centre.
鈥淭he Grainger Market is known for exactly what we provide, high-quality food and drink which you can grab on the go, so it鈥檚 a great fit for us in that respect.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been a bit of a whirlwind journey for us since we opened, we鈥檝e been travelling up and down the country to events and have built a reputation really quickly, and this will be a great addition to that.鈥
The opening of the cafe comes after NorthShore Coffee Co was forced to re-evaluate its business strategy when the pandemic hit.
Mr Davison said: 鈥淲e鈥檝e always done events and festivals, we never did street trade, but then last March came and all of the events we鈥檇 spent the whole winter planning and preparing for were cancelled. We had an empty diary so had to think fast.
鈥淚 started off doing coffees in Fenham and it was amazing how quickly we built a customer base, word travelled so fast through WhatsApp groups. But it became a bit tricky to get parked there sometimes, so it wasn鈥檛 going to be a long-term option.
鈥淚n the past few months, we鈥檝e found a great site on Moorfield in Gosforth, which has turned into a big positive for the business. We鈥檙e there every weekday from 8am to 4pm, and from 9am on a Saturday, and have built a regular following.
鈥淚t wasn鈥檛 something we would have done if the pandemic hadn鈥檛 hit, but it鈥檚 been really nice to become a regular stop-off for so many people during some really tough times.鈥
Northshore Coffee Co has been supported in its Grainger Market expansion by law firm Sintons, with corporate solicitor Jonathan Tutu acting for the business.
鈥淣orthShore Coffee Co has built a strong reputation in a short period of time for its mobile offering, and its acquisition of a permanent base will give strong foundations on which to build further,鈥 says Jonathan.
鈥淲e are very pleased to support Toby with his new premises and wish him and his team the very best with their new site in the Grainger Market.鈥
