Convenience specialist Nisa is making its own deliveries more convenient.

The Scunthorpe-based wholesaler is introducing a twilight next day service following a successful pilot.

It means traders can capitalise on emerging sales trends and promotions, ensuring shelves are stocked for opening in a section of the retail market that has seen strong growth.

Jess Graves, Nisa’s operational improvement and implementation manager, said: “The twilight delivery service has been well received by those partners who have so far signed up to it. It allows them to react to sales, promotions and events and enables them to have everything in store ready to trade the next day.

“We have been trialling ambient next day evening deliveries over the past five months or so and the service has been working well for partners, so the next step is to roll it out across the country and then in the future we will look at the possibility of adding chill into the offer as well.”

Now part of the Co-operative Group, following the £127 million acquisition in May 2018, the past year saw sales increase by £40 million, largely driven by a focus on availability rates. It added £1 billion to the parent companies revenues.

The additional delivery slots are between 5pm and store closing time, with retailers receiving a call on the day of delivery to advise on an estimated arrival.

Nisa serves 1,400 retail customers with a portfolio of 4,000 stores between them across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.
