Hull-based green cleaning products company Bio-D is making it easier for customers in its home city to access its range.

A new pick up point for customers has been established, allowing online orders to be collected within two hours. The service will also help to further reduce the eco-conscious company鈥檚 carbon emissions by reducing deliveries in the immediate area.

It is being operated from the company鈥檚 fulfilment site at D&AGF Ltd on Innovation Drive, off Clough Road. The move comes almost a year after the production site expansion from Bergen Way to Marfleet Environmental Technology Park on Hedon Road.

Lloyd Atkin, managing director at Bio-D, said: 鈥淪ustainability is behind everything we do here at Bio-D, from the suppliers we use, to how the factory is powered and the ingredients that go into our products. That鈥檚 why creating our pick up point for local Bio-D customers is a natural addition to the business.

鈥淲ith a long-term objective of becoming net zero, we are putting in every effort to minimise our carbon emissions. However, for the emissions that we can鈥檛 avoid we make sure to invest in schemes around the world to remove the same amount from the atmosphere to balance the scales.鈥

It will also act as a return point for Bio-D鈥檚 20 litre containers, which are cleaned, refilled and reused to form part of the company鈥檚 closed loop laundering system.

Bio-D was first founded in Hull in 1989 and offers 鈥渘o compromise鈥, green home cleaning by creating powerful, ethical cleaning products without compromising the planet.

It bills itself as the 海角视频鈥檚 leading manufacturer of environmentally responsible, ethically sound, vegan cleaning products, and recently secured its B Corporation certification. Certified B Corporations are considered leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy, measuring a company鈥檚 entire social and environmental impact. Bio-D is the first B Corporation certified business in Hull, with less than 1,000 companies in the 海角视频 reaching the required standards for the certification.
