An accountancy firm that recently relocated to the South West from London has changed its business model to focus on supporting online companies after the ecommerce boom during the pandemic saw it grow its customer base and workforce.
Your Ecommerce Accountant has changed its name from Your Cloud Accountant to reflect its change in focus, after a report it published found a 43% increase in the number of new ecommerce businesses during 2020.
Now based in the Somerset town of Wellington, near Taunton, the business works primarily with online retailers on marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay, as well as ecommerce platforms such as Shopify and Magento.
The firm's broad client base consists of sole traders to large limited corporations which have pivoted to focus on an ecommerce business model.
The company said that growth among its ecommerce customers over the past year, and winning new clients, had allowed it to add three more people to its workforce.

Your Ecommerce Accountant’s founder Ben Sztejka said that as business - and in particular retail - changes, that accountancy “needs to change with it”.
Mr Sztejka said: “We are delighted to see sustained growth in the last 12 months and to be able to relocate to the South West.

“The ability for our employees to work remotely has also allowed us to be able to recruit three excellent new members of staff to support the team, with two more hires planned for the next six months.”

Mr Sztejka said having moved to the South West, which was prompted by the opportunity for its staff to work remotely, the firm was looking to connect with more local businesses to help with online expansion.
