º£½ÇÊÓƵ seafood giant Young’s has unveiled a senior management restructuring following the arrival of chief executive Simon Smith.

Frank Green has been made managing director of the chilled business unit, with Yvonne Adam heading up frozen in an allied role.

Previously marketing director, she will also lead commercial activity, as well as foodservice and international categories for the £545-million turnover business.

Mr Green, previously sales director, returned to Young's in 2014 after a five year absence, during which he oversaw Morrisons' start-up in seafood production. Prior to that he had spent a decade in a number of senior commercial roles across the frozen and chilled categories. Mrs Adam also returned to Ross House in 2014, having joined Baxters then household products group Jeyes in a three year spell away after an initial seven years at Young's.

Mr Smith, who completed the controversial move across Grimsby from rival Seachill last month - following the summer buy out of Young's - said: “Having recently joined Young’s Seafood, I have been impressed with the immense passion and talent amongst our people. This is clearly a team looking for success and ready to build the next chapter of our story.

“The wider business environment has altered significantly over the past five years and we must evolve accordingly. I am ambitious and enthusiastic about the potential of our company to lead in every category in which we operate, keeping Young’s as the preferred choice for customers and consumers and as the best seafood business in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

“These improvements will enable us to maximise our strengths by focusing our commercial activities with our core categories and also simplify our structure and decision-making processes.”
