The 海角视频鈥檚 largest yacht maker has only just launched a trailblazing new vessel but it is already planning an equally stylish sister ship as it bounces back from the coronavirus lockdown.
Plymouth鈥檚 Princess Yachts has just completed sea trials for the X95, and is now working on unleashing the slightly smaller X80.
The company, which employs more than 3,000 workers in the Ocean City, said it has 鈥渞e-written the rules鈥 on yacht design with the X95 鈥 and now has done it again.
Antony Sheriff, executive chairman, Princess Yachts, said: 鈥淭he X Class鈥檚 ground-breaking architecture creates an entirely new product segment as Princess continues to push the boundaries of yacht design.

鈥淭he first X95 has just completed sea trials and her revolutionary design has caused a stir. Initial feedback makes it clear that we have a great success on our hands.
鈥淲e have worked over the past two years to envelop all of the X95鈥檚 unique qualities into a more compact package. The X80 is just that, another bold step for Princess Yachts.鈥
Princess Yachts has stressed its 鈥渁ggressive investment strategy鈥, and the company鈥檚 record financial position and full order book, as reasons it has been able to create such high-spec new yacht designs.
The company began returning to production in early May 2020, after weeks in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, and is now working on fulfilling its order book for 2020 and 2021.
At the start of June it launched the X95, which came with its own on-board cinema and, of course, a Skylounge.
And now X80 is due to take to the water in 2021, becoming the second member of the X Class Superfly family.
The Princess X80, follows the X95 concept defined by large, adaptable spaces offering flexible accommodation.
At 25m in length it is about 4m shorter than its big sister. Princess Yachts stressed it is 鈥渂oldly re-writing the rules of yacht design and architecture鈥 by incorporating the concept of a 鈥渟uper flybridge鈥 featuring extensive outdoor space, offering the owner and guests a 鈥渞eal al fresco living opportunity鈥.
The X80 has been painstakingly designed to offer the most versatile and accommodating experience, while keeping design and style at the forefront, the firm said.
Princess Yachts鈥 long-standing partner, Olesinski, has again partnered with Italian design heavyweights Pininfarina to create 鈥渢he ultimate in avant-garde yacht design鈥.
Following the sculpted surfaces and long flowing lines of the X95, the X80 鈥渞epresents a striking design concept whilst at the same time maintaining the well-respected and internationally recognised classic Princess design language鈥.
The company said this benchmarking design work is due to a 鈥渜uiet revolution鈥 in the methods used to design a Princess hull.
Years of experience building fast and seaworthy hulls are now complemented by cutting edge simulation techniques.
For the X80, this approach has led to efficiencies across the speed range whilst ensuring the highest levels of seakeeping and predictable handling, the company stressed.
Fitted with twin MAN V12 1900 engines the X80 will reach speeds up to 30knots.

The X80 also features increased height in the bulwarks, topsides and enclosed wheelhouse. Its S-shaped canopy flows into the flybridge deck to 鈥渂alance the visual weight and disguise the volume of the expansive sky lounge鈥.
The X80 maximises glazing which flows along the entire length of the main deck encasing the saloon, galley and forward dining area.
Below decks, eight guests are accommodated across four cabins: a full beam master stateroom located amidships, a forward guest stateroom, a double guest to starboard and a twin cabin to port. Located aft of the main accommodation is the crew quarters which can accommodate three people.
Princess Yachts has been hand-crafting luxury yachts in Plymouth for more than 50 years, and the firm said the X80 represents yet another head-turning example of Princess鈥檚 leading British craftsmanship.
