Hull-based green cleaning products company Bio-D has completed a £600,000 expansion to meet a significant rise in demand.

The company has doubled the factory footprint with the move to a 32,000 sq ft new site at Marfleet Environmental Technology Park on Hedon Road, creating several new jobs in the process.

Three employees recently joined the 37-strong team, with more in the offing.

Lloyd Atkin, managing director, said: “Over the past five years Bio-D has seen a rapid increase in sales and our previous site just didn’t have the space we needed to manufacture and store our products whilst upscaling.

“The new site means we can bring all our operations and storage back in-house and create more job opportunities across the city.

“Now we’ve made the move to our new premises, we’re looking forward to having the space to grow as a business and continuing to create high quality cleaning products without compromising the planet.”

In line with the eco-friendly ethos, solar panels will allow it to operate with self-generated renewable power too.
