More updates have been announced about a revamped Sutton Coldfield restaurant as its opening date nears. Mitchells and Butlers are investing £1.5 million to convert the well-liked Sutton Park Toby Carvery into an upscale Browns Brasserie.

The Grade II-listed Park House near Town Gate ceased operations as a carvery on Monday, September 8, and is set to unveil its new brasserie identity on Thursday, November 21. The hospitality group has committed to restoring some of the building's historic 18th-century mill house features, reports .

Patrons can expect a refreshed menu and the addition of a Grand Piano, a signature element in all Browns establishments, alongside tributes to the venue's heritage. Notable original elements, such as the 12-panel studded front door sourced from Worcester Cathedral, will be preserved at the Sutton Coldfield location.

The old mill's leat, a water channel, continues to flow through the cellar. General Manager Danny Folcarelli commented: "The building has been totally transformed, bringing back to life all of the original features through a careful and well-planned restoration process to create a beautiful new venue."

A spokesperson for Mitchells and Butlers commented: "The new restaurant interiors draw inspiration from luxe art deco aesthetics, with a captivating blend of opulent textures, inviting hues of calming blues and warming orange-reds, among sophisticated finishes. From the standalone cocktail bar to the expansive, light-filled dining areas, the restaurant is the ideal setting for a drink, pre- or post-dinner relaxing as well as all-day dining."

The restaurant joins some 26 others in the brand across the country, including locations in Birmingham by the Bull Ring and Nottingham in the Midlands. It will be open from 9am to 1pm Monday to Saturday and from 9am to 10pm on Sundays.

Additionally, it will remain open on key dates during the upcoming holiday season, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
