Holiday company Parkdean Resorts has created more than 1,500 jobs ahead of the reopening its parks for the summer.
The Newcastle firm reopens to holidaymakers at its 67 holiday parks on Monday, and is gearing up for one of its busiest summers ever, as families seek out staycation destinations during the coronavirus pandemic.
In preparation, the Gosforth firm has taken on an additional 1,500 team members, spread across roles including accommodation, food and beverage, and security.
The new recruits take the group鈥檚 total number of employees across the 海角视频 to just under 8,000, which marks a company high.
Earlier this year, Parkdean Resorts announced its largest ever investment in its estate, committing 拢80m towards buildings, facilities, maintenance, health and safety, and environmental areas.
Last month it also secured a 拢25m equity injection from its Canadian private equity owners One, to make sure it can capitalise on the boom in staycations once holiday parks reopen.
The company is also testing a 鈥減arks of the future鈥 initiative in four locations to create state-of-the-art amenities including accommodation, park facilities and kids鈥 activity-based entertainment such as the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.
As part of its summer strategy, the caravan, lodge, cabin, glamping and camping holiday resort business is launching its biggest ever marketing campaign to coincide with the reopenings.
Created by Newcastle advertising agency, Cravens, the ads will run across TV, radio and social media channels and features a voiceover from popular TV personality Stephen Mulhern, and a twist on the S Club 7 hit, S Club Party.
Parkdean Resorts has already experienced a surge in bookings for the peak summer months and expects to be at 100% capacity for July and August, as well as anticipating record bookings for September and October.
Parkdean chief executive Steve Richards said: 鈥淭his campaign will rightly celebrate the wonderful Great British holiday. It is our biggest yet and comes at a time when demand for our holidays is through the roof; we expect to be full over the summer months and are experiencing a surge for September and October bookings, creating 鈥榯win peak鈥 demand.
鈥淲e are ready and waiting to warmly welcome holidaymakers who want to enjoy a well-deserved break whilst seeking fresh air, open spaces and safe, beautiful locations. Our team has worked hard to ensure that whilst social distancing and health and safety measures are adhered to, our holidaymakers鈥 experience will be the best yet.鈥
