Burton-based 奥颈濒濒蝉丑别别鈥檚 Waste & Recycling has appointed Jenna Willshee (pictured above) to its board of directors following 13 years with the business.

Jenna鈥檚 responsibilities as a director will focus on leading and developing the customer service, office management, payroll and human resource functions within the growing company which employs 140 people.

She joined the family business straight from school, studying business management and taking her Association of Accounting Technicians qualifications alongside her work.

She said: 鈥淚 was always committed to working in the family firm but the longer I鈥檓 here, the more ambitious I get for the business.

鈥淲hile waste and recycling is a predominantly male environment, I have never known anything else and given that my mum Maria has been integral to the company from day one, I have always had a good role model who has consistently supported women progressing within the organisation.鈥

Pinelog:

Judy Barwell (pictured below) has joined Chesterfield-based Pinelog, a designer and manufacturer of luxury timber lodges and buildings.

As sales account manager she will work alongside associate director Paula Skelton who is driving forward the company鈥檚 ambitions to increase its share of lodge supply to the holiday park sector.

She previously worked for retirement village developer Adlington.

She said: 鈥淚 am really excited to be working with such a high quality product that uses natural materials.

鈥淭he sustainability credentials of Pinelog are very important to me both personally and professionally.鈥

Her appointment follows the company鈥檚 relocation to Chesterfield earlier this year, from Bakewell.

Cartwright Communications:

Cartwright Communications has continued its significant growth with a string of promotions at its Nottingham office.

Manuela Holmes has been promoted to associate director in recognition of her increasing role as part of the senior leadership team, after six years with the company.

Scott Giles has been promoted to senior account manager, while Kali Dennett and Matt Santos have both moved up to account manager roles as part of a dedicated mentoring and training programme to support their development.

Lucy Torr and Dominic Smith have been promoted to account executives after joining the agency following graduation as junior account executives.

Cartwright鈥檚 provides marketing support to clients across property and construction, building products, professional services, food and drink, retail and healthcare.

Alongside the launch of offices in Birmingham and London during the past 18 months, the agency has launched a number of new service lines and now boasts a 30-strong team of PR, digital, social media, brand and marketing experts.

Access Group:

Loughborough-based business software provider The Access Group has appointed Pooja Singh as managing director of its global operation centres (GO Centres) in Asia-Pacific (APAC), the first of which will be located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Pooja will sit on the APAC leadership team, reporting to chief operating officer Terry Taylor, who is responsible for delivering the group鈥檚 GO centres and centre of excellence strategy.

She joins Access from Google, where over four years she scaled up and established Google operations centres across four locations in Asia-Pacific, growing the team from zero to 5,000.

She previously held leadership roles at organisations such as Cognizant and Tata Consultancy Services.

The Malaysia GO Centre marks the latest phase of the Group鈥檚 global expansion, after Access Group struck a 拢9.2 billion investment deal from shareholders Hg and TA Associates last year.

Derby University:

Gurpreet Dehal has been appointed the new chair of the University of Derby鈥檚 governing council.

Gurpreet was appointed as an independent member of the governing council and as chair-elect in September 2021. On August 1 he replaced Stephen Smith, who was in the role since August 2018.

Gurpreet has been involved in higher education since 2010, first as a council member at Royal Holloway, University of London, and then in a national regulatory role 鈥 initially on the board of the Higher Education Funding Council for England and then with the Office for Students.

Gurpreet's earlier career was in risk management, financial planning and business leadership for global trading and lending businesses including Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse, where he was a managing director and chief operating officer.

Medilink Midlands:

Life science industry organisation Medilink Midlands has announced the permanent appointment of Melanie Davidson as its chief executive and Andrea Dawson as chief financial and operating officer.

The pair have held the roles in an interim capacity since March 2023.

Nottingham-based Medilink Midlands is the life science industry association for the Midlands, helping life science companies start-up, develop and grow.

It works alongside regional organisations including the East and West Midlands Academic Health Science Networks, the West Midlands Combined Authority, the Midlands Engine, and the region鈥檚 universities, sitting at the heart of academia, business, government, and the NHS.

John Pye:

Charles Loake, associate director at national auction house John Pye & Sons, has been appointed as a director of the Turnaround Management Association 海角视频 (TMA).

Following in the footsteps of colleagues including managing director Adam Pye, he will take over the role from John Pye鈥檚 joint head of property and business Trevor Palethorpe, following a two-year tenure.

TMA is a global organisation dedicated to business turnaround, recovery and renewal. With around 10,000 members across 20 countries, it combines global networking with sharing the latest news on business recovery, corporate turnaround and restructuring.

Charles has more than 20 years鈥 experience with Nottingham-headquartered John Pye & Sons. As joint head of business assets and property, he has provided valuation and sales advice on some of the 海角视频's most high-profile insolvencies, including Made.com and Phones4u Limited.
