Louis Theroux and Mr Motivator on line-up for North East innovation festival

The Northumbrian Water Innovation Festival is being held with a mixture of live and online events

Acclaimed documentary maker Louis Theroux, exercise legend Mr Motivator and TV’s repair and restore guru Will Kirk are among the list of speakers topping the bill at Northumbrian Water’s Innovation Festival.

The festival 2021 is taking place in a hybrid format this year between October 18 to 21, featuring stars from the worlds of broadcast, wellbeing, health and environment to deliver interviews, live talks and Q&A sessions.

Documentary maker Louis Theroux will be taking part in a live chat about how he has needed to innovate in order to achieve such a long and successful career.

Opening the festival, which will see participants joining from America, Australia, South Africa and India, is fitness coach Mr Motivator, who will set the tone for the event with one of his workouts.

TV craftsman Will Kirk will also be joining the star-studded line-up, alongside journalist Rory Cellan-Jones, Car Share and Meet the Richardsons creator Tim Reid, and former-Mayor of Sheffield and activist Magid Magid, with each giving talks on how disruptive innovation has helped them to succeed.

Popular podcasters I’m Grand Mam’s PJ and Kevin, and Dave and Steve from The Happy Pear Podcast are also set to deliver important messaging around wellbeing.

The festival will also hear from National Geographic’s young explorer Lucy Houliston, who will be focus on conservation and environment during her session on Tuesday.
