Sunderland soft drinks manufacturer Clearly Drinks has expanded after snapping up flavoured water brand Revolution Waves.
Revolution Waves was founded two years ago by entrepreneur and former international rugby player Charlie Simpson-Daniel and Dan Norton, alongside his successful Kings Elite Snacks company, based near York.
The drinks, which have a core range of flavours of raspberry, cherry, cranberry and lemon and lime in 500ml bottles, aim to to promote a healthier lifestyle with sugar-free, low calorie recipes and they are listed in more than schools across the 海角视频 as well as regional Tesco and Asda stores.
With every purchase, 2p is donated to catering departments in schools to support managers with the task of educating students on the importance of diet and exercise.
Mr Simpson-Daniel, who originally comes from Stockton, Teesside, got a professional contract when he left school and was drafted into the England national rugby sevens team and he travelled the world for two years before leaving to enter the food and drinks industry.
He said: 鈥淚鈥檓 absolutely delighted with the investment Cleary Drinks has made in Revolution Waves. The firm has an incredibly passionate team and we have a shared vision to take the brand to the next level.鈥

The acquisition comes as Clearly Drinks continues to expand its national portfolio of successful and differentiated brands in the water segment following private-equity firm NorthEdge Capital鈥檚 investment in 2017.
Mick Howard, CEO of Clearly Drinks, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e extremely pleased to welcome Revolution Waves to the Clearly Drinks brand having worked with them for three years.
鈥淐harlie and the team have done a fantastic job in promoting the brand in the 海角视频 and its dedication to giving back to education is something that we really admire. We intend to continue the hard work over the coming months and expand the product reach even further than before.鈥
Lloyd Williams, director at NorthEdge Capital, said: 鈥淩evolution Waves is a great fit for Clearly Drinks and complements the existing brand base well.
鈥淣orthEdge are keen to continue to back the strategic vision of the team at Clearly Drinks and remain committed to investing further in acquiring brands which fit with the culture, ethos and unique proposition that the company has developed.鈥
Over the past 12 months, Clearly Drinks has created 37 new jobs, bringing the firm鈥檚 headcount to 113. As a result, production has increased by 25%. with the plant now producing over one million litres per week.
