A fast-growing recruitment agency has broadened its reach in the West Midlands by launching a new office in Tamworth.

MET Recruitment, which is headquartered in Dudley, has invested £100,000 into opening a site in Pacific House near the M42.

The Tamworth operation will offer commercial, industrial and tech candidates for both temporary and permanent roles.

The agency has also hired Dee Edwards as recruitment consultant and Claire Foster as industrial growth manager.

The business has secured Stormking as a new client, with MET Recruitment helping it source more than 30 temporary staff every week.

Ms Foster said: "Clients are keen to look at a new breed of recruiter who focus on their requirements and can build strategic relationships that aren't there just for the short-term win.

"Tamworth is full of industrial estates with lots of logistics and manufacturing businesses on them.

"From talking to these companies, they are crying out for a reliable recruitment company who has access to a strong pool of skilled labour.

"Stormking is our first client and we're currently in discussion with several firms. There's a lot of potential and that's why we've invested £100,000 into creating a dedicated base here."

Industrial director Matthew Hunter added: "A large part of our focus in Tamworth will be industrial and logistics.

"The area just lends itself to these two sectors and we are perfectly set up to deliver what they want.

"We are going into it with an open mind however and, if new opportunities arise, we'll go after them.

"This is our first office in Staffordshire yet it is still close enough to the Black Country for us to leverage each other's strengths.

"Going forward, we have big plans in place to open a third office, with Shropshire the likely destination."
