Three East Midlands firms have joined forces to produce videos which aim to help company owners reopen their businesses safely.
Following an announcement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on easing some of the coronavirus lockdown measures, some industries have been encouraged to reopen their workplaces to staff who cannot work from home.
To help them do so safely, e-learning content creation and video communication specialist Colab Creation, human resource and culture experts Culturev8te and independent recruitment consultancy Macildowie, have teamed up to provide practical support to business owners to help them prepare their workforce and workplaces.
Last week, in a carefully prepared studio in Leicestershire, the three firms began the first in a series of safe film shoots, while still observing social distancing.
According to the firms, the project aims to demonstrate the practical support, expert guidance and visible leadership available to help organisations in preparing businesses for the challenges that lie ahead.
Dan Lamoon, director and owner of Colab Creation, said: “Our government isn’t able to provide us with the leadership we need, so it’s up to us as responsible businesses to inspire trust by caring for our people and customers.
“We still need restrictions, of course, and that means making safe, sensible and considerate changes that put community and people first and strive towards making our world a nicer place to live and work.”
The videos cover a range of topics, from how to manage the needs of remote employees and maintain positive relationships with furloughed staff, to seizing training opportunities or developing an inspirational company culture.

James Taylor, chief executive at Macildowie, which has offices in Nottingham and Leicester, said: “At Macildowie we did these sessions with every single member of the business, including those on furlough, to communicate our belief that the world has changed and to support them to think about their role in that new normal.
“I hope we can all still go into an office and enjoy being with one another again, but certainly in the near future we need to help people return to work by employing as much technology and leadership as possible.”
