A Devon-based independent stove and cooker specialist has acquired West Country Stoves.

Rangemoors, which is based in Winkleigh, mid-Devon, has purchased the supplier of multi-fuel, wood burning, electric and gas stoves based in Aveton Gifford, near Kingsbridge.

Bosses at Rangemoors said the acquisition will "significantly" extend its reach with bases now in mid-Devon, Exeter and South Hams.

Andrew Wotton managing director of West Country Stoves added: 鈥淚t was clear from the outset that there was a great synergy between the two businesses with the ethos of quality and customer service at the heart of both organisations.鈥

Mr Wotton will continue to run the business in South Devon. The deal brings the opportunity to extend the product range of stoves available from West Country Stoves with the addition of brands such as Morso, Hunter, Rocal and Focus.

In addition, the retailer will now be able to offer a comprehensive selection of cookers from brands such as La Cornue, Lacanche, Esse, Rayburn, and Rangemaster.

Solicitor Tim Jackman of White Jackman, Plymouth acted for Rangemoors, which has been operating in Devon since 1974.
