Architectural practice celebrates milestone 1000th project

Hewitt & Carr Architects (HCA) has reached its milestone 1000th project

A Staffordshire architectural practice is celebrating completing its 1000th project.

Cheadle-based Hewitt & Carr Architects (HCA) has reached the milestone, nine years after launching in 2011.

Over the years, business partners Natalie Hewitt and Mark Carr have grown the company massively – going from residential extensions and developments to huge commercial and corporate projects and now, a mixture of both.

The company has worked with big-name clients like Crewe-based Wrights Food Group on a project to extend its existing factory, and pottery-giant Emma Bridgewater to help with plans to redevelop land next to its Lichfield Street factory, in Hanley.

More recently, the company has been supporting the £750,000 redevelopment of the New Vic Theatre in Basford.

Founder and architect Natalie Hewitt said: “We’re delighted to have reached this milestone. When Mark and I launched the company we could never have envisaged hitting the 1000th project mark. When you first start out every job is a bonus but we are both incredibly determined, hard working and ambitious, as is our team, and it’s that team effort and approach that has enabled us to get to this huge milestone.”

She added: “We launched this business because we care about people and that ethos is still at the centre of everything we do. To us every job is equally as important, whether it’s supporting a big organisation with a multi-million pound redevelopment, or it’s a residential extension that’s going to provide much-needed family space, they both mean as much to the client, which means they mean as much to us.

“We’re working on some great projects and we’re looking forward to building on our success as we start working towards our next milestone.”
