A bathroom supplier is reaching new heights 鈥 just a month after launching.
Bathroom Mountain has been set-up by Jay O鈥橬eill and Shamila Iqbal next to its associated company, Tile Mountain, in Tunstall.
The pair launched the firm in September after 12 months of planning.
Now the company has a 20-strong workforce and operates from a huge, 90,000 sq ft warehouse in Harewood Street.
Shamila 鈥 who is the daughter of Tile Mountain chairman Mo Iqbal 鈥 said: 鈥淲e started planning this a year ago and that鈥檚 where the idea came from to use part of the Tile Mountain name and similar branding.
鈥淭ile Mountain is such an established business and we want to take what they have created, and their 鈥榗ustomer is king鈥 ethos, and replicate it.鈥
Jay said: 鈥淪ham wanted to get involved in business and bathrooms, and I have eight years experience in the bathroom industry, we both obviously know Mo, and Tile Mountain, so we came together to set it up.鈥
Bathroom Mountain is an online bathroom retailer which supplies everything from baths, showers and sinks to taps and radiators as well as bathroom accessories such as cabinets and mirrors.
While customers can order individual items from the business, Bathroom Mountain can provide entire bathroom suites at 鈥榣ow cost and fast delivery.鈥

Twenty four-year-old Shamila, who grew up in Tunstall, said: 鈥淲hen we first started it was just me and Jay, we were answering the phones, picking and packing, we were working in every department, but it got to a point where we needed staff to help us.
"A lot of employees we have taken on had been made redundant from their jobs because of Covid-19, which meant we were able to put together a great team of experienced staff.鈥
She added: 鈥淲e didn鈥檛 think it would blow up as quickly as it has, but we have had a lot of time to prepare and get everything into place.鈥
Jay, aged 32, said: 鈥淲e had stock coming in and all the technology set up so when we started to spend money on marketing we saw revenue coming in straight away.
鈥淲ith Covid, a lot of people have chosen to spend money on their homes instead of going on holiday which has obviously helped us get off to a good start.鈥
He added: 鈥淲e look at things in a modern way and we want to do things differently to our competitors who just sell single items.
鈥淵es, you can buy a tap or a sink from us, but we give our customers a reason to buy everything because it鈥檚 all in one place 鈥 and we provide it at an everyday low price.
鈥淭he way we use technology also means we can ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible.鈥

Bathroom Mountain already has plans for growth and work is currently being carried out to construct a showroom at the front of the company鈥檚 three-storey headquarters.
Jay said: 鈥淚t has grown quicker than we ever thought. We are not your average start-up, we operate out of a 90,000 square foot warehouse and we have big growth plans for the future.
鈥淲e want to become part of the local community.鈥
Shamila added: 鈥淚t has been great working with local companies, especially Roe developments, who have assisted us with our set-up.
鈥淎nd, while we are a totally separate business, we would like to thank Mo and Jeremy from Tile Mountain for helping to make this dream a reality and allowing us to use their brand.
鈥淚t was a big gamble for us to start a business during a pandemic but, fingers crossed, we have managed to pull it off.鈥
