Sustainable energy solutions developer Vital Energi, has established a new office in Newcastle, creating new green job opportunities in the North East.
The move is part of the company's commitment to support local Government initiatives aimed at ramping up the transition to net zero in the region.
The opening of the new premises at Portland House coincides with Vital Energi's involvement in several prominent regional energy projects, such as the construction of a £3.6m solar farm at Newcastle International Airport and the development of a district heating scheme at Riverside Dene estate, aimed a reducing fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions for 550 properties.
Vital Energi said it is actively recruiting for various positions in Newcastle, contributing to its goal of expanding its current workforce of 760 by around 50%. The expansion plan will add 400 new green jobs across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ over the next five years.
The company said: "Newcastle is a key city for us where we see lots of opportunities, in terms of both talent and projects. We're part of an emerging industry looking for the next generation of skilled individuals to fulfil a number of roles, and have already commenced our recruitment drive in the region."
In addition to the Tyneside office, Vital Energi is broadening its footprint in Scotland and setting up a new office in Swansea. Meanwhile, its Blackburn headquarters has been refurbished to modernise the workspace and enhance capacity, reports .

Meanwhile, Coun Karen Kilgour, leader of Newcastle City Council, added: "It's really pleasing to see Vital Energi's expansion into Newcastle and they will be a welcome addition to the city's ever-growing green industries, providing more green jobs and inclusive growth to Newcastle, as we continue our collective push towards net zero."
