VisitEngland has award Bath and Bristol a "small" share of 拢5m being given to regions to promote tourism following the Covid pandemic.
The national tourism agency funding will be used to promote both cities as they reopen to visitors.
In September 2020, VisitEngland launched a 海角视频-wide marketing campaign, 'Escape the Everyday', aiming to encourage domestic tourists to explore the country on short breaks.
The fund provided the opportunity for England鈥檚 destination management organisations to apply for grants to deliver local marketing activities aligned to the national campaign.
Bristol and Bath were awarded cash after a successful joint bid and will use the money to run the campaign across their digital channels.
Digital Visitor 鈥 the 海角视频鈥檚 digital marketing agency for travel, tourism and hospitality - has been commissioned to deliver a campaign, which will drive potential visitors to new landing pages on the Visit Bath and Visit Bristol websites, with bookable experiences available direct from the landing pages.
The 鈥楨scape the Everyday鈥 content 鈥 with videos and images sourced from local photographers - will be promoted mainly on social media until the end of July.
Kathryn David, director of tourism for the region鈥檚 destination management organisation, said: 鈥淲e put an enormous amount of work into our bid application and so are delighted that our campaign for Visit Bristol and Visit Bath was awarded funding from the 鈥楨scape the Everyday鈥 campaign.
"This will support the visitor economy in the West of England as we begin to recover from the most difficult and destructive environment for our business community.
"We have been working with our local industry to bring them into the campaign strands, and look forward to delivering the activity with local company Digital Visitor, who are experts in campaign delivery for destinations and visitor experience in the digital environment.鈥
The West of England visitor economy is valued at 拢2.33bn and supports 45,500 jobs.
According to Visit Bath and Visit Bristol, there are more than 300 businesses across both cities holding the 鈥榃e鈥檙e Good to Go鈥 industry standard and consumer mark, which was introduced last year by VisitEngland to reassure visitors that businesses are adhering to Government and public health guidance.
