A regional motor group鈥檚 apprenticeship scheme has been described as a 鈥減owerful example to other further education providers鈥 by a government minister.

Stoneacre launched its academy in 2017 to develop young talent, and a first Ofsted inspection has seen it graded as outstanding.

It obtained the top level in all categories in the maiden assessment, with inspectors visiting the Thorne-based training site in July.

Skills Minister Alex Burghart MP has written to congratulate the team.

He said the outstanding result 鈥渘ot only provides recognition for the work and commitment to improving outcomes for learners, but will also act as a powerful example to other further education providers.

鈥淚 firmly believe that excellence in further education is vital to help young people and adults achieve their potential. It strengthens local communities and supports employers to achieve growth, by improving workforce skills and the job prospects of the people you train. It is through your organisation and others like you that Britain can equip people with the skills they need to succeed in life.鈥

A high level of support and care and the ability to advance were attributes credited to making the apprenticeships valued by those undertaking them, with strong motivation to participate actively underlined.
