Rototherm

(Sponsor: Development Bank of Wales)

RotoMedical’s manufacturing base in Port Talbot, South Wales

Maker of industrial measuring instruments Rototherm, which dates back to the 1880s, pivoted during the pandemic to also produce medical masks, protective face shields and equipment for health and care workers.

This saw the Port Talbot-based company producing three million PPE items a month and at one stage its headcount swelled to 400.

It is now creating 250 new permanent jobs in a new partnership agreement with the world’s leading personal protective equipment (PPE) safety eyewear specialist Bollé.

The tie-up sees Rototherm’s medical and protective equipment division, RotoMedical, becoming Bollé Safety’s exclusive º£½ÇÊÓƵ manufacturer of PPE eyewear for the healthcare industry.
