Firm behind stalled Liverpool developments to shut down once projects complete - to avoid 'flogging a dead horse'

Primesite said the announcement only means it won't launch any more projects, with MD Kerry Tomlinson adamant they're 'going nowhere from this city' - and will continue to serve existing clients

The firm behind controversial stalled developments in Liverpool says it will shut down once its projects are complete - but its boss says it will still be on hand to serve its clients.

Kerry Tomlinson, managing director of Primesite Developments says it is on a "two-year orderly wind down", and that once it has completed the Herculaneum Quay tower in Dingle and Strand Plaza apartments project - and "endeavoured" to finish its Rise site on Low Hill - bosses will "put [it] into a box and tie a ribbon around it".

Despite the announcement, Mr Tomlinson said the firm is "going nowhere from this city", and will "invest time to finish the schemes and deliver the products".

It comes a week after it was revealed on £40m The Rise project on the former Gregsons Well site, a project Mr Tomlinson said would not restart until next year.

He said: "I have no appetite to continue to try and present Primesite Developments to lenders when it's clearly had significant issues.

"So we will be finishing off Herculaneum Quay, we will be finishing off Strand Plaza and endeavoring to finish off The Rise.

"Once that is all done, then we will quite simply put that development company into a box and tie a ribbon around it."

The 17-storey Herculaneum Quay tower is one of several projects across the city to have stalled in recent years, with it coming after Mr Tomlinson's previous firm Herculaneumco collapsed.
