Caterers have a rare opportunity to run a cafe at one of the most unique locations in Wales.

Garth Pier in Bangor is one of Wales’ oldest Victorian piers and is the second longest in the nation at 1,500ft.

The pavilion style tea room at the end had become an institution in the city.

But it closed last year as a major renovation of the historic landmark took place.

Now the site has been put on the market for lease  - giving someone a special opportunity to run a food site in the middle of the Menai Strait.

Bangor estate agent Dafydd Hardy, who is marketing the site, said: “We’re excited to be marketing this unique commercial unit at an important Bangor landmark.

"It is a unique location in the locality

“After the success of the recent food festival held on Bangor Pier, it’s clear there is an appetite for future events.”
