Lincolnshire Showground investing £800,000-plus in its exhibition hall – the EXO Centre

Originally built in the 1960s for Lincolnshire Agricultural Society members, the building is mainly used for educational events

How the EXO Centre will look

Management at Lincolnshire Showground are investing more than £800,000 renovating its EXO Centre exhibition hall.

Originally built in the 1960s for Lincolnshire Agricultural Society members, the building has mainly been used for educational events, hosting 752 in the last 10 years.

In the last 12 months alone it has been used by more than 7,000 children, parents and teachers.

Renovation work is now underway on the 17,500 sq ft space.

Work on the exhibition hall is due for completion in May and improvements will be made to the entrance and reception area, the main hall, multi-functional educational space, kitchen and toilets.

Bi-fold doors between the entrance and main hall will be added as well as a new roof which will make the space more flexible for different event requirements.

Eco-friendly features will include the installation of LED lighting inside and out, with the latter having movement detection and daylight shut off, thermal glazing, new insulation and cedar cladding to the exterior of the building.
