Green light for next phase of Spark

Developer is planning to deliver more than 600,000 sq ft of manufacturing and industrial space in Walsall

CGI of phase two of the Spark development in Walsall

The second phase of a £126million regeneration project in the Black Country has been handed the green light.

Developer HBD has secured reserved matters planning consent for the second phase of the Spark manufacturing and logistics scheme in Walsall.

Phase two will deliver a further 101,341sq ft across three units close to junction nine of the M6.

Construction is already well under way on the first phase of the scheme, with the first two units due to be completed later this year.

HBD will bring forward one further unit as part of phase one which will be delivered on a build-to-suit basis.

Construction of the second phase is expected to begin in November, with a target completion date of autumn next year.

HBD is transforming the site of the former James Bridge Copper Works into a new business estate aimed at manufacturing and logistics occupiers.
