Plans have been unveiled to transform a former antique centre into a new luxury wedding venue in the West Midlands.

Blackbrook Barns, near Lichfield, is set to be re-imagined by its new owners as a high-class wedding venue set against a grade-II listed hall and outbuildings.

The venue will be able to accommodate wedding ceremonies and evening parties and also eight retail units.

Six of the retail units will overlook the internal courtyard with the remaining two, a coffee shop and larger retail showroom, will be arranged over the ground and first floors.

All units will be open to the general public throughout the year and the scheme is due to open next spring, subject to consent.

Sutton Coldfield-based property consultancy Burley Browne has been appointed to let the retail units.

Joint managing director David Hemming said: "The redevelopment of Blackbrook Barns offers some really exciting opportunities for retailers operating in the weddings sector.

"Our client will transform the current site into a fantastic new luxury wedding venue which will be surrounded by high-quality shops that will complement it.

"It will provide couples in the region with superb new facilities in an extremely convenient location."

On the same site south of Lichfield is Blackbrook Hall which has recently been transformed into flexible workspace and is now home to 11 businesses.
