Two northern Lincolnshire businesses are at the heart of preparatory works on a huge new £350 million power station.

Keadby Two, scheduled for commissioning in 2022, will add 841MW to the Energy Estuary’s credentials, just west of Scunthorpe.

A number of º£½ÇÊÓƵ companies have begun work to deliver the project with Siemens for SSE.

Scunthorpe-based civil engineering firm Britcon (º£½ÇÊÓƵ) has been contracted to provide site development works including the installation of hard standing areas for accommodation as well as the installation of temporary power and water connections for accommodation and the installation of the piling matts.

Prior to main civil works beginning, Brigg based contractor CLS Civil Engineering worked to demolish existing structures from the former coal fired plant to prepare the ground for construction as well as providing staff to the project to help with daily site activities.

It has valued works at £5.7 million

Other firms from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Yorkshire have also been subcontracted to provide piling works for the new power plant foundations, site accommodation and security.
