An event bringing together London-based investors and tech executives with opportunities to invest and support the Welsh tech sector will be held next month.

Organised by Welsh innovation hub Tramshed Tech, the event will take place at the Shard building on June 12th, with an expected opening address from David Stevens the co-founder and a former chief executive of ar insurance to loans group Admiral.

It will also feature a panel featuring decision-makers who are actively fostering collaboration and investment opportunities in Wales.

Panellists will include Chris Skinner, ecosystem manager at Barclays Eagle Labs, which provides support and mentorship to tech founders across Wales; Jessica Phillips-Harris, senior manager for Wales at the British Business Bank’s º£½ÇÊÓƵ network and John Cordrey, investment director at Foresight Group, which manages the £50m equity fund element of the British Business Bank’s £130m Wales Investment Fund.

The event will also feature Jack J Williams, founder of iTero Gaming and current head of gaming technology at GiantX Esports. Mr Williams, a former financial analyst, founded iTero from his cottage in Cardigan, Wales, developing an AI-powered coaching platform for League of Legends players that provides real-time feedback and strategic insights.

After participating in one of Tramshed Tech’s award-winning innovation programmes, his company caught the attention of global esports organisation GiantX, resulting in a multi-million-pound acquisition.

His firsthand account will demonstrate how AI innovation cultivated in Wales can rapidly scale to international markets, creating substantial returns for investors and strategic acquisition opportunities for forward-thinking corporates.

Mr Skinner said: “Through our partnership with Tramshed Tech, I’ve witnessed firsthand the quality of innovation happening outside London. This event at The Shard is a perfect opportunity for London-based investors to connect with the exceptional talent and opportunities emerging from the Welsh tech ecosystem. The impact we’re making together in Wales is significant, and I’m excited to help showcase this potential to a wider audience.”
