Viddyoze co-founder Joey Xoto hits out at mass of hideous online racist abuse he receives on a regular basis

Joey Xoto said there should be 'no hiding place for racists'

A North West tech entrepreneur has spoken out against the horrendous racism he is repeatedly subjected to online, saying there should be "no hiding place" for racists.

Joey Xoto is co-founder of Preston SaaS animation firm Viddyoze, and has hit out at the regular racist abuse he has received after appearing in his company's video advertising.

On Tuesday, he shared a selection of the expletive-filled messages that have been sent to the company in which he’s called racist terms and even compared to the dead al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Mr Xoto said his name never appears in the videos - but some of the abusers have tracked him down on social media to target him directly.

The 32-year-old said he refuses to stop appearing in the videos because it would "hand victory to the racists".

But he said something needed to be done.

“I’m not sure we’ll ever stop racism but there has to be a better way of holding those responsible to account.

"I don’t think there should be a spectrum of racism – racism is always racism.
