A cybersecurity specialist has struck a $4.6 million deal to supply its digital ID technology to the US government.

, which also has offices in the US, specialises in electronic identity passes and security access for some of the world’s biggest companies and state bodies.

It’s MyID identity software has been used by big clients including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, the Department for Homeland Security, and Airbus.

It has allowed them to do away with potentially insecure passwords for their internal security systems, making them more resistant to breeches and cyber-attacks.

In recent years the firm has invested heavily in applying its software to mobile technology and the cloud.

In a statement to the Stock Exchange the business, which is based in , said: “Intercede, the leading specialist in digital identity, credential management and secure mobility, is pleased to announce the receipt of a large US Federal Government order totalling $4.6m.

“The order, which was included within the directors' expectations for the year, includes software licenses and annual support and maintenance – $2.05m of which will be recognised in the financial year ending 31 March 2020.

“In line with normal practice, a trading update will be provided as soon as possible after the completion of the financial year.”
