Triumph has launched a Tiger 850 adventure bike

Triumph has launched the latest version of its Tiger adventure bike.

The Hinckley-based manufacturer is bringing out a new 850 version, which is more “manageable, accessible and intuitive” than the existing Tiger 900 which it replaces.

The A2 licence compliant model has road and rain riding modes, Brembo Stylema brakes, LED lighting – including distinctive daytime running light – an adjustable LCD screen as well as ABS and switchable traction control.

Retailing for £9,300, it comes in two graphic schemes, with a lightweight modular frame and what Triumph calls a “category-leading level of premium finish and detailing”.

The bikes will be on sale at the end of January, with Triumph saying it will compete with the BMW F750 GS range.

Designed in Hinckley it will be built in Thailand.

A spokesman for the º£½ÇÊÓƵ manufacturer, which recently moved all mass production overseas, said: “The Tiger 850 Sport’s bodywork has a focused and aggressive adventure style, with a narrow stand over width, visually light front end and dominant fuel tank design and size.

“With all of the class-leading level of finish and detailing from the latest generation Tiger range, the new 850 Sport comes in two exciting paint options, Graphite and Diablo Red or Graphite and Caspian Blue, each incorporating contemporary new Tiger 850 Sport graphic schemes.
