One of Wales’ leading digital workspace businesses is expanding into Europe’s biggest indoor market redevelopment.

Tramshed Tech will be opening a new site in next month, offering a co-working and bookable event space at the Grade 2 listed building’s restored mezzanine.

The business incubator will also run 37 newly-renovated office units to accommodate between two and 15 people per unit.

Founded in 2016, Tramshed Tech already runs a 10,000 sq ft workspace in the historic Tramshed building in Cardiff’s Grangetown and is expanding into a number of other locations across Wales.

The company has offices in Goodsheds in Barry and is currently in the process of refurbishing the ‘Information Station’ in Newport.

Last year, the company announced that it had signed a heads of terms for development agreement with Swansea Council for the city centre’s 133-year-old Palace Theatre building. It is scheduled to open at the beginning of next year, with construction already underway.

Tramshed Tech co-founder and chief executive Louise Harris said: “Over the past five years, since opening the original Tramshed Tech hub in Grangetown, Cardiff, we have been looking for the right opportunity to extend our reach and develop our class-leading brand and service offer further across Wales."
