Tech Week Humber is heading online.
The digital festival will embrace what it represents as it responds to the coronavirus pandemic.
The event, scheduled to run for a week from Monday, November 9, has opted for a hybrid model, with 90 per cent of the activity heading online.
Antonio Tombanane – founder of Tech Week Humber and managing director of GB Recruitment in Hull, said: “Tech Week Humber will now focus on two flagship events both delivered through a digital platform. This will be complemented by smaller more targeted events throughout the week.
“We want to invite local business to add to the week, host their own event, exhibit and shout about what they have to offer. The region is full of innovative tech companies and we aim to provide a platform to promote this.”
Set to be the inaugural hosting, it followed the success of an expo held in 2019, which drew 2,000 delegates.
Underlining the appetite, more than 100 people gathered for February’s launch.
Pressing on online, Wednesday, November 11 will see Tech Expo Humber return for a second year.

Local, national and international industry leaders are lined up to speak, with the event set to include breakout sessions, virtual stands and a networking zone all designed to give the attendee the full expo experience.
The team is excited about the possibilities of moving the event online as they aim to increase their reach pushing this year’s event to new heights. They have recently
welcomed new strategic partnerships with the Department of International Trade and Tech Nation with the aim of increasing the audience of this year’s event.
“The real benefit of a digital event is the ability to reach a whole new audience,” Mr Tombanane said. “Working in partnership with the likes of the Department of International Trade, Reach Plc (publisher of BusinessLive) and Tech Nation we are looking to promote the event not just locally but globally.”
While the format flips, the core values remain. The second key event of the week will be dedicated to education. On Thursday, November 12 Tech Week Humber plans to stream the event into the classrooms of all secondary schools and colleges in the region with the aim of inspiring the next generation of tech talent.
