Tech platform ‘revolutionising’ recruitment signs up 200 businesses since January launch

“I think recruitment just needs a far better experience. At present, there’s no fun, interesting way to keep an eye on the job market”

A Manchester-based tech start-up which aims to “revolutionise” the recruitment sector has signed up 200 businesses and 5,000 users since its platform launch in January.

The platform, which aims to change the “same old tired, tedious, unexciting experiences of recruitment agencies and jobs boards”, now counts Adidas, AO.com, Missguided and The Hut Group among its clients.

The start-up launched version two of its app after Gareth Peterson joined the business as managing director, he said.

Mr Peterson told BusinessLive: “When I took over the business, we started re-building everything and we employed this whole user-led approach.

“From mid-May last year, we worked with companies from Adidas, The Hut Group, BBC and small SMEs to redesign the employer side of the platform.

“We also worked with circa 20 to 30 new users throughout that, but the whole process took about 31 weeks to rebuild everything from scratch and we went into beta in November last year.”

Peterson said the platform has received “in excess of £1.5m investment over the period Caroo has been running, and possibly nearing £2m”.

“We’re just confirming what that next round of investment will be but essentially that next round of investment will take us well into 2020.”
