Everything is sounding good for a Devon audio production company which is working on hit TV shows including Netflix’s Sex Education, the animated Street Cat Bob and BBC staple the One Show.
Tom Edwards Sound is already highly respected in the television industry and also has Rick Stein’s Cornwall, Paul Goes to Hollywood, Britain’s Greatest National Treasures and ITV drama Strangers on its CV.
The company is also branching out into the growing podcast industry and is moving from Plymouth to larger premises in Bovey Tracey.

The business is run by Tom Edwards, who has 20 years of experience as a sound engineer and dubbing mixer and has worked on hundreds of shows and with top names including Dawn French, Caroline Quinton and Emilia Fox.
Mr Edwards’ work has appeared on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Netflix, Amazon, Discovery, and Fox. Specialising in audio production for broadcast, digital content and music, Mr Edwards, who can work from a studio or on location, said: “If it makes a sound, I can make it sound good.”
Mr Edwards cut his teeth working for Plymouth TV production company Denham Productions, where he became in charge of spin-off Denham Audio, based in a studio in Plympton.
But he also worked as a freelancer and said: “I had my own clients. So when (Denham Productions founder) Chris Denham offered me the lease of the studio I said I could make a business of it with existing clients. So I started a new company in that studio.”
Tom Edwards Sound now offers audio post production services, voice over and ADR (automated dialogue replacement), music production, training and consulting services.

“I built a mobile podcast studio. Everything is in a flycase. I can go to a company, or into a field, and record people, and then come back to the studio and do the editing and artwork. I have been building a portfolio and talking to some potentially big clients.”
Now Mr Edwards is looking to move to larger premises and has identified a new base at Bovey Paradiso, a 300-member community benefit company which is transforming a 16 th Century former pub into a community cinema, theatre and arts and entertainment centre.
“That studio will be up and running in the next six weeks or so,” said Mr Edwards.
