Weatherbys' e-passport is described as a single, secure platform for all regulatory and legislative requirements. It is now live to the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Irish thoroughbred market and includes stallion, mare and foal registration, pre and post racing vaccinations and medications, along with ownership updates and full identification.

Duncan Wilson, managing director at the ESP Group, said: “We’re the market leaders of smart card delivery in the transport industry, and this is a perfect example of how our skills, technology and expertise can be transferred to other applications. This is a significant move for us, as we venture into a new market for the first time.

“We used our existing technology and systems to support the development of the e-passport for Weatherbys. This has created a much more secure, accessible and efficient platform for this historic process. We’re incredibly proud to be working with such a well-regarded and historic organisation, and it’s fantastic to see the e-passport being successfully rolled out across the country.”

This new system safeguards the ID and ownership of the animals, as well as offering advantages for animal welfare, movement, traceability and recording vaccinations.
