The executive director and president of North East software giant Sage has announced he is retiring.

Blair Crump first joined the Newcastle firm in August 2016, to lead the sales and customer services teams across the group in the newly-created position of president.

He was subsequently appointed to the board in January 2018, bringing leadership experience of the North American market as well as insights into customer success in the technology sector.

Mr Crump will retire on 31 March 2020.

He will stand down from the board at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting to be held on February 25 but will continue in his role as President until his retirement date.

Before Sage, he had been chief operating officer at Texas-based profit realisation company PROS Holdings, and he also led Salesforce.com’s global enterprise business.

Steve Hare, chief executive officer, said: “Blair has been instrumental to our vision of becoming a great SaaS company for customers and colleagues alike.

“Under his leadership of our dedicated sales and service teams around the world, we have renewed our focus on customer success and I am grateful for his experience, dedication and contribution.”
