A recruitment specialist has been brought in to help Rolls-Royce find 400 workers for its mini-nuclear power station subsidiary.
The Small Modular Reactor (SMR) spin-off hopes to be building power stations by 2029 鈥 each around a tenth of the size of a conventional nuclear plant, and generating enough power for around one million homes. The plans have already generated hundreds of millions of pounds of investment.
Rolls-Royce SMR has appointed nuclear recruitment specialists RPOne 鈥 part of the Morson Group 鈥 to support its largest recruitment campaign to date. It is already advertising for jobs in Derby and Warrington.
Rolls-Royce has said its SMR plans 鈥 to develop a factory-built nuclear power plant that is deliverable and scalable at a global level 鈥 could eventually create 40,000 海角视频 jobs when fully operational and generate 拢52 billion in economic benefit.
It could also play a key role in achieving the Government鈥檚 British Energy Security Strategy, which hopes to deliver the equivalent of one nuclear reactor a year instead of one a decade.
