North East construction tech firm clixfix has doubled its office space ahead of a recruitment drive, having already created 10 new head office jobs.

Software-as-a-service provider clixifix specialises in a cloud-based platform, which allows its customers in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ housing industry to track the progress of repairs and speeds up the reporting process, leading to lower costs and higher customer satisfaction.

Based in the Evolve Business Centre in Houghton-le-Spring – which is owned and operated by City Council - clixfix has worked with some of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s leading developers and construction companies and has been supported by the authority’s business investment team since 2018.

Over the last three years it has tripled its headcount from seven to 24 employees, and is now expanding its office floorspace from 700sqft to 1,700sqft ahead of the next recruitment drive.

The firm’s recent success has triggered the creation of a number of jobs and over the next few months it will recruit into five new roles, as well as welcoming its new CTO Mark Stephenson, CFO Richard Barrett; Ruby on Rails developers John Yeates and Alex Malik and customer success manager Abby Moorhead.

James Farrell, CEO and co-founder of clixifix, said: “As we begin to adjust to life with Covid and the construction industry continues to bounce back, clixifix is enjoying a huge increase in demand from our existing clients.

“We are also building relationships with lots of new service users and I’m delighted that in turn this has enabled us to rapidly expand and create so many new jobs at our North East offices.”
